AGLA Carbon Fiber Modified 996 Wheel
AGLA Thick Grip/Anatomic Modified 996 Wheel

AGLA started with leather products for Porsches back in the mid 80’s. It is the foundation of AGLA and continues to be today. Although we have expanded to many other types of car products, we have always had the Porsche owners products first in mind in the matter of quality, pricing and service. We thank all Porsche owners because without you AGLA would never existed.

AGLA makes it’s products to fit your Porsche. A shiftboot for a 1987 911 is totally different from a 1986 911. We get the details sorted out to fix your Porsche.

Porsche - 911, C2, C4, 993, 996, Boxster Shiftboots, Shift Knob Units:
Up to 1987, all 911 came with a long black metal stick shift between the seats, rising up from a rubber shift boot. Most metal shift start to look ugly, and the paint peels off after several years. Our 911 shiftboot is a great way to cover up the shift and update it to a modern luxurious look. You can also purchase from us a one piece knob and boot unit that looks like a factory OEM fit. 1987 through 1989, Porsche changed the transmission to a better unit, called a "G-50". Along with this, the 911’s came with an original equipment leather knob the size of a golf ball. Beneath the Emblem that pops off, is a hex (Allen) screw which allows for easy removal. The leather on these were very thin and wear out quickly, especially lighter colors such as linen and camel. AGLA uses thicker leather to avoid this problem. We also make a one piece unit knob and boot called the 959CARA which includes either a 4 speed or 5 speed emblem.

In 1990, the 911 was known as the Carrera 2, or Carrera 4 (also as C2/C4). The shiftboot and knob unit was now along the design of the 944 unit. Some C2 models used a slender knob as seen on the 928, while the C4 used the thicker knob from the 944/968 series. By 1995 all 911 C2/4 including the newer 993 model used the thicker 944 knob. AGLA uses for the 1990-98 models the thicker knob/boot unit in your choice of color.

The 996 model 1999+ uses a Boxster knob/boot unit which reverts back to the slender 928 style knob.

All 911 units come with 4/5 speed emblems. (6 speed available special order) and extra cost. However your old emblems are usable.

Porsche Handbrake Units:
Available on all 911’s, 993’s and 996. These units replace ugly rubber boots, or expose bare metal ebrakes on certain years, different models accommodate various climate controls configurations.

AGLA started to manufacture leather ebrake covers because OEM rubber covers on Porsche 911 were a horrible accessory on 911’s. Later 911 by the mid 80’s came with climate unit between the seats, but the ebrake lever itself was left exposed in bare metal. By the C2/4 models Porsches started to come with complete leather consoles, but we have seen many leather factory ebrake handles worn out, needing replacement. We designed the following:

911 Leather Brake Boot and Handle:
These Handbrake Boots units replace the rubber boot and plastic grip. Everything is in leather from the front to back, only the button release is exposed.

Carrera 2/4, 993, 996:

Steering Wheel Restoration Kits and Loner Wheel Program:
Your Porsche’s wheel are scarce and expensive to replace when they wear out. Typically the inside top thread vanishes - What is happening is that your leather is shrinking at the top part. Then approximately 9-12 months later the leather starts to come off in your hands. Your local dealer will probably try to sell you a generic one size fits all wheel kit, which does not look correct on your Porsche. Or you’ll be looking at a $1,500.00 bill from your dealer to replace the exact wheel with no color choice.

AGLA developed the first proper wheel restoration kits that properly look like original equipment, covering the spokes, looking like a new factory wheel, in your choice of colors. And in some cases, colors that the factory no longer stocks to match your Porsche’s original interior.

These wheel kits depending on your stitching skill can range from 2-6 hours of work. We supply instructions, thread, needles and expert advise if you need to call us. You can get fancy with your stitching and don’t worry - we will supply at no extra charge more thread if you need it.

Comparison of standard length hub U.S. EXTENDED hub model three and four spoke wheels on 911, 944, 928 models. Extra hub plate adds 2 inches to wheel. Some of you may have this option, which is important if/when we swap out sheel under our loaner program.

911 Models:
Please note, we now have available on the part numbers below marked "(PRESEWN)" the availability of having your wheel kits PRESEWN saving you 2-3 hours of sewing time. It is much easier to sew, and looks like factory original for an fee of $15.00 to your kit below.

924, 944, 968 Steering Wheels:
Porsche appears to have had various suppliers making the same wheels in the early eighties. In the matter of steering wheels the only true way to know which kit applies to your car is the serial number embossed on the bare metal under the horn. We need for you to supply it to us when ordering. (This applies to 4 spoke wheels only. You will need to pull at both the left and right ends of your horn pad - Pull Firmly. A wire will be attached. You can unplug it. On the right lower portion you can match up your serial number with our list below.

924SW - Two spoke 924 wheel 1976-81. Rare, mostly because most owners threw them out. $69.95

924EXSW
- Same as above however, has optional "Hub Extension". Although looks just like a standard 3 spoke. Porsche moved the spokes slightly offset (we don’t know why they bothered) as compared to the 911SW. If you have a 924 or 944 with a three spoke, you may need to take your wheel off to inspect if you have a metal plate approximately 1 _ inch long at the end of the wheel hub. Visually without taking wheel off the rear hub of your 3 spoke, has a plastic cover ahead of the turn lever. Then - if you have the extension also ahead of the lever is solid metal, plus the plastic hub. The extension was an option for your 924, 944 in lieu of tilt steering adjustment, like on other cars.

Boxster, 944, 924, 928, 968 Leather Gear Knob/Boot Kits, and Complete One Piece Unit:

AGLA was the first company to realize that the knob and boot units of the 944/928 series wear out on a regular basis. We developed a kit to retrofit over the original knobs for all model years and now introduce our latest complete gearknob/boot that fits as OEM, with color leathers. The kit you install is approximately 40 minutes which involves some minor gluing. The complete unit installs in seconds.

Boot Only:

924SB - Boot only, all years 924. All years 944/968 using an aftermarket knob. $44.95

Please note:
Porsche made the 944, 968, 928 range to be used with the OEM filling knob.

The use of aftermarket type knob that tightens on with hex screws do not fit at well on these cars. The shift on these cars are not round like most cars. They are flat rectangular aluminum shifts that only fit well with the original knob or the AGLA knob. And of course, we make our core knob with the same look and feel of the OEM knob. The only difference between the OEM and AGLA knob is that we have updated it to 968, 911 Carrera specs. i.e. No more metal clips or rubber grommets to wear away. Regardless of year 944 the knobs slide fits in seconds like newer Porsches.
